UCF IT’s Support Center is seeking an End User Computing Specialist Assistant. This position is a senior technician role responsible for providing desk side support including software and hardware troubleshooting, configuration, and installation as well as serving as a resource to and lead to other technicians. Responsible for using diagnostic tools properly. Responsible for using ServiceNow to document and track incidents and requests. Accountable for proper ticket documentation and follow up per established UCF IT guidelines. Responsible for assisting in training of end-users in use of hardware and software. Accountable for maintaining privacy and security of user data per established guidelines. May be responsible for assisting on cross-functional teams on a provisional, project or permanent basis. The daily tasks associated with this position are: Assisting in oversight of technicians and serve as a lead as directed by supervisor Maintain, upgrade, install, diagnose and repair hardware including desktops, laptops, workstations, peripherals, and accessories Perform installation of software and operating systems (Windows, Mac OS, and Linux) Diagnose and assist in repair of complex hardware and software issues The use electronic and networking testing equipment to diagnose computer equipment problems Troubleshooting network issues Creating knowledge base articles to document solutions, processes, and procedures Providing client education on how to use equipment, software, and university systems Contact vendors for troubleshooting issues and obtaining components when needed Provide assistance towards the engineering and design of the client experience on endpoint devices. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Additional Minimum Requirements Preferences Prefer candidates with familiarity with ServiceNow, Experience with Linux, Familiary with MAC OS Special Conditions This position title may change based on a classification and compensation study UCF is currently conducting.
